Think About It Thursday for 10-26-17\r\n

\r\n

Homework Helpline is tonight from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the BHS library and it’s free of charge. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Asking for help is a sign of strength not a sign of weakness. Seeking help is also a sign of wisdom. Think about it – does Mr. Ashley do his job alone? No, he has assistants and look at all the other grown-ups employed to help him teach you.\r\n

Don’t forget the Flu Shot Clinic is on the 31st (Halloween).\r\n

Did You Know????\r\n

\r\n

 \r\n

\r\n

Did you know that if you are absent for any reason (band trip, ball game, FFA, FCLA, sick, or for any other reason) that it is your responsibility to log in and check the work you missed and to clarify with your teacher(s) exactly what you need to turn in and when.  Your teachers will help you but you must initiate the conversation with them.\r\n

\r\n

Did you know that you should always check in with your teacher before you come see your counselor, go to the nurse, go anywhere?  That way your teacher knows where you are and you are not counted absent or tardy.  So please, always ask permission to go somewhere.  It will definitely be to your advantage.\r\n

\r\nYour response is always more powerful than your circumstance.  A tiny part of your life is decided by completely uncontrollable circumstances, while the vast majority of your life is decided by your responses.  Where you ultimately end up is heavily dependent on how you play the hands you’ve been dealt.\r\n

Winners\r\n

\r\n

Had only two winners last week – ladies that answered my question about which letter in the alphabet is not used in the spelling of any state.  The answer is “q”.  The winners were S. Piotrowski and K. Williams.  Congrats, ladies, and thanks for playing!\r\n

Parting Thoughts\r\n

\r\n

 \r\n

\r\n

I certainly hope there is some tidbit of something in this email that grabs your attention and lets you know that you are important and that you matter – because it’s true. If you weren’t, I wouldn’t do this. I also hope you found something in here that made you smile and that you learned something. If you did any one of these things, then today has been a success for me. I hope, dear students, that each and every day of your life you find something that makes you smile, learn something new, and know that you are important and loved.\r\n
